Agree with settling for some months, then pump out about 95%, dilute a little with fuel, for simple gravity filtering through regular oil filter, then big diesel fuel filter.

but why would you want to install a 5.9 head on the 6.7 block in the first place? it doesn't make any sense it's like going backwards.

The holes you were considering welding up are there to install a case spreader to remove then preload the carrier bearings.

I just picked up a 96 ram 1 ton dually automatic from an old timer that wasn’t sure about the build of the motor. 115k and said it was left stock. How can I find out what this thing has on it and what production run it was? I know I have to do the dowel pin for sure. fwiw I called a couple of stealers and they never heard of any dowel pin fix. One guy told me “in 30 years I’ve never seen a one of them there dowel pins come loose son”. Ok great thanks

Hey Rob, I had a question for you if you had a second. My ve pumped 12 valve is having an of issue where it will idle down to about 500rpm and acts like it is missing. Most of the time reving the engine will fix this issue. The truck recently shut off on me after idling low again. Come to find out that was a loose fss connection, at least I hope. It hasn’t done it since. But I still get an intermittent issue with the idle. It’s almost like it’s missing. Pump has been turned up, fuel pin, silver bullet plunger, oversized lift pump, 75hp injectors from pdd. Timing has been advanced 2 teeth. 24v oil pump. I run my idle at 750 in drive. 3200rpm spring. 0:43 I’m kinda stumped on this one since it so intermittent. A hard pull in od has the best chance of triggering it. Sometime when it is left alone while it’s having idling issues it will slowly regain rpm. Any input would be very much appreciated. Thank you!

I got a Fummins and got a problem with the engine jumping around in power do to the connection from A/C high pressure sensor. To the ECM . Hopefully you know what I'm talking about. And las but not final where are you located ? I would like for you to take a look and fix a few things.

The plastic piece is called the fun police, it will stop fueling around 15psi, so for vehicles running higher boost... Put it in that glovebox....

Maybe you should invest in a rigid cylinder hone, have been doing motorcycle cylinders for the past 50 years and have had excellent results. Test for straightness by pulling the piston thru the cylinder bore after honing to size. Got tired of HD cylinders being impossible to get right, I swear that they are made out of a metal version of silly putty. They would be correct top and bottom after sending them to a shop specializing in HD engines, well they would always drop the piston somewhere in the middle ALWAYS. Bought a rigid hone and bored them myself, took time but they came out right. Later on I noticed that some company boring systems were basically rigid hones with a cam system so you don't have to work your ass off with a 1/2" drill and slinging cutting oil all over the place. Myself, I took a 35 gallon plastic barrel a secondhand worn out air oil pump to spray the cutting oil on the work. Yes it works but you work for it and it is messy. My problem today is finding replacement stones, no one seems to make them anymore.

Hey Rob - I've been searching for a 2003-2004 CR 305HP block with a 12v P-pump conversion. I saw your build with the p-pump 6.7. How much easier or harder would it be for a 03/04 p-pump conversion? Contemplating making it a project if it's feasible.

hello there, i have a problem. On my tractor i had very low idle rpm, below 500 rpm, so i checked the pump and the throttle lever was very wobbly , the holding screw was very lose so i tightened it. now the idle is on 530 rpm or so. I wonder if the throttle lever moved when it was wobbly so long and changed the position. Can i move the throttle lever one notch so that the idle will be a bit higher, the max throttle would be higher as well because of that ?? Will that higher max throttle harm the pump or engine in anyway, will the engine runaway?, Or should i just leave the throttle lever as it is, and only adjust the idle rpm set screw (i would set it to around 650 RPM)? The pump has never been rebuilt, and guessing from paint the rest of screws are in original settings, only the one that holds the lever on the shaft was unscrewed. ty bb
